A great series- brought back some memories.
For completeness I shall sticky some of British Eagle International that originally operated from Blackbushe before transferring to Heathrow, its main operating and engineering base.
Operated between 1946 and 1968 with fleet of approx 40/50 a/c. Being Vikings, Constellations, DC-6's, Viscounts, Britannia's, 1-11's, 707's.
In fact while looking back, my memory clicks over all the greats of yesteryear. BUA, Bcal, Autair, Dan-Air, BKS - and it seems many more.
Demi Note; (I was on duty in Queens Building in 1968 when BKS Ambassador, G-AMAD suffered a flap failure on final approach, turning hard port towards the central area it smashed into two Tridents on its way to crashing into European Terminal 1 with an almighty wallop (the terminal was then under construction). Sadly fatal- although 2 survived.
Great thread, thanks.
