The unbelievable sight of N158AC S-64F Skycrane just off the main A96 road 2-3 miles south of the village of Keith, it arrived from the US by boat into Montrose and is involved the the construction of a wind farm in the area
Surely though, why construct a windfarm? just hook it's rotors to a generator and you have a ready made windfarm!

Originally built as a Sikorsky CH-54B 'Tarhe', cn 64-081, for the US Army in 1969 sn 69-18473. Bought by Erickson Air-Crane in 1998 and converted to an Erickson-Sikorsky S-64F Skycrane. Since then it has been leased out in Malasia, Korea and Peru.
I hope Donald doesn't mind me hijacking his thread but here's one that was taken by Ian Adams on Friday morning. Only one lift was completed before the wind became too strong for the operation to continue, posted with Ian's permission.

The Skycrane is now finished its ops up here and was flown back to Montrose on Monday past ( 12/02) lifted on the the ship and the rotors removed for transit back home
