SPOTM April 2017, Aircraft with airfield support vehicles.
This is the SPOTM (Special Photo Of The Month) competition for April 2017 and the subject is 'aircraft with airfield/airport vehicles'
The subject of your entry should be a photo of one or more civil registered aircaft which also has any type of airport/airfield vehicle in the photo - this can include fire trucks (anybody got a water salute?), towing vehicles or other servicing vehicles. it does not have to be specifically designed for airfield work but must be used for serving aircraft in some way. The aircraft subject(s) must be registered as a civilian operated aircraft (or retired as such) when the photograph was taken. That's about as broad as I can make it for you.
Photography Competition Rules :-
1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..
2. The photo may have been taken on any date, it does not have to be taken in the month of the competition
3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not. HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.
4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 (UK time) on the 1st May 2017, to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.
5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.
6. The decision of the moderating team is final.
7. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.
8. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.
9. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.
10. Do not comment on other member's photos.
11. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too.
If you have any questions please PM me
Good luck everyone.
Andrew

Re: SPOTM April 2017, Aircraft with airfield support vehicle
OK...first time at this, apologies if I have got it wrong
This is my favourite airport, Brussels Zaventem, on a decidedly horrible day, April 29th 2014. Sleeting & windy & freezing cold, I was waiting for my Brussels Airlines flight back to Manchester and took this in a hurry on my extremely basic digtal camera. The Qatari 787 Dreamliner caught my eye, first one I had seen relatively up close so snapped a picture of it before it left just as my flight was called for boarding so I was not able to get the registration unfortunately. There are a few service vehicles and other airliners there too including Austrian Dash 8 just completed baggage loading and the tug used to get the Qatari 787 off the gate

Re: SPOTM April 2017, Aircraft with airfield support vehicle
This one is from back in 1984 from an August bank holiday trip to Manchester Airport (Saturday 25 August 1984).
G-AVMY (BAC 1-11 BA) had just landed, and was taxiing in when it stopped suddenly and was surrounded by the fire vehicles. A quick inspection by the fire crews, and it continued to its stand. Never did find out the reason for this.
Just over a year later (12 November 1985) this same aircraft suffered a collapse of the right main landing gear at Kastrup (Copenhagen) airport in Denmark, while taxiing to the runway for a scheduled flight to Manchester.

I've been trying to decide what to go with this month, several to choose from and picked this in the end, Stearman N43YP being towed out of a hangar at North Weald in April 2016
