It's excellent, one of my annual 'must go' shows,it's always a good atmosphere and great views- probably only bettered by Shuttleworth for the viewing and photography. The light will be behind you throughout the display but as the runway runs east-west it might be a bit in your face during the morning arrivals. normally they land from the west if possible and great landing shots are possible.
There's lots of classic cars as well and normally lots of visiting aircraft. If you want close pics of the arrivals get there early and get by the fence next to the runway about 50 metres from the corner - DON'T go next to the control caravan or between there and the first fence corner, it looked tempting to me the first year I went and I thought there seemed to be a lot of space - then the Mustangs parked in front of me and blocked the view

.
For the display itself you can stay there to get the take offs and landings and the display line crosses the runway so you can see that well or move round into the main area near the flagpole and you are about central on the display line which id excellent. The aircraft will arc round from both directions but how post Shoreham rules will affect them I'm not sure - hopefully not much.
There tends to be quite long queues for food at peak times so I usually take a packed lunch and top up with a bit of bought food later on (but they usually sell out before the very end). Make sure you buy a programme (only £1) as it gives the flying list but get it early, they tend to sell out, usually they have them on the gate so I get mine then.
Finally - check in the programme for the time of Mark Jeffries' display and make sure you are on the runway fence for that with a good view along the runway, If he takes off from the western end he will be up by the time he passes the control caravan AND banking vertically, the show is worth going to , just to see that (and his display) alone! -Brilliant.
There are posts of my photos from all of the past 5 or 6 years in the airshows section - they will give a flavour of the show.
Just enjoy it
