SPOTM competition, August 2014 - Boeings
This month's special photo competition (SPOTM) subject is 'Boeings - any fixed wing variant'.
Photos entered must be of a civilian registered Boeing fixed wing aircraft, airworthy, preserved, withdrawn from use/stored or abandoned! Boeing have been building aircraft since 1916 so surely everybody must have a photo of a civilian Boeing aircraft of some sort that fits the topic so lets see a bumper entry please!
Photography Competition Rules :-
1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..
2. The photo may have been taken on any date, it does not have to be taken in the month of the competition
3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not, (cutting and pasting the moon into the shot, for example !). HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.
4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 on the 1st September 2014, to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.
5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.
6. The decision of the moderating team is final.
7. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.
8. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.
9. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.
10. Do not comment on other member's photos.
11. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too.
Good luck everyone.

Re: SPOTM competition, August 2014 - Boeings
I'll kick it off this month...
I expect you are all expecting a plethora of Boeing airliners but as I mentioned at the head of the topic, Boeing have been building all types of aircraft since 1916 so with a bit of slightly lateral thinking I found this in my photo archives.
The Stearman was built originally as a trainer for the U.S. military in the 1930s. This one however is a common sight on the airshow scene in the UK, SE-BOG is one of the Breitling team's aircraft and I took this photo at Clacton in August 2012

shame my pics of the Panamanian C.97s at Miami in 1988 weren't very good quality because they would have made an interesting subject
anyway , that's mine for now,
good luck everybody

Paul beat me to the DHL 767 at Fairford, so I'll try a Virgin 747-400 G-VXLG landing at Gatwick on 10 September 2013 instead:

For a long time it's been one of my favourites; a British Airways triple, in a nice wintery evening light.
Simple, but for me it works.

This was a tough choice. For now, I'll go with this beauty captured at RAF Brize Norton on 15.07.14...

As a rule, I'm an Airbus man. Boeing though have the history and the kit to match! A favourite of mine are the Triples, in particular the 77W's (777-300ER's). Here is Air Canada's C-FIVM dropping in to London Heathrow on a foggy and moist morning back in June 2013

My effort for this month's competition: B734, 9M-FZA, of local carrier Firely, on approach to Penang International, 31 May 2012.
This aircraft is now operated by Slovakian airline Go2Sky as OM-GTC.
Good luck all.
