Any guys n gals out there know what this is on the side of this Robinson, taken at Glos, Staverton today.

They carry some kit that they leave on the ground (base station) then carry out flights doing some sort of geographical survey work with info relayed back to the base station or something very similar to this. The only reason is that I saw it operating out of Halfpenny Green for a day and asked the same question.

I noted this aircraft yesterday, near Largs in Ayrshire, and I was also wondering what the box was. The aircraft was circling over The Knock (NS202628), and close to Brisbane Mains (NS209622). The Knock is the site of an Iron Age hill fort and the Brisbane Mains area holds the remains of an old observatory, once belonging to the astronomer Thomas Macdougall Brisbane. A few years ago there was talk of Time Team being involved in a project here, however this idea obviously faded, but in recent months there has been interest in restoring the observatory. Could it have anything to do archaeological digs?
