I recently paid a visit to F-BMCY soon after it's 'rescue' from years in the open at Sumburgh. It is now going to spend more years in the open outside a private house in North Roe at the opposite end of Shetland. Given that this was one of a very few 840s built it surprises me that there was not more effort made to recover the aircraft but I'm guessing that it was down to the usual problem of cost. The wing skins are now corroded through in many places and much of the rest of the structure is beginning to crumble so there isn't much left to restore. Thanks for sharing all these images from the 70s/80s Scotland, this is my era and they have brought back some great memories.
