Bristol-Lulsgate - 8th August

Post by Cessna954 » Fri Aug 08, 2014 8:02 pm

Found a little bit of time today to pop over to Feltham Common and watch some arrivals in to Lulsgate. Despite the duty runway being 27 the almost dead calm conditions meant ATC were bringing them in either end depending on what they could fit in. The light was great at first but soon deteriorated until it became pointless trying to get bright images.

Warning, the following post contains some military aircraft content.

BMI Regional are now prevalent from Lulsgate serving much of the UK and near continent.

Thomas Cook have two of their new A321(SL)s based at Lulsgate and I do like the new livery

If I'm not mistaken Aurigny have slightly revamped their livery

a nice set, thanks for sharing them. my favourite is the Aurigny ATR, nice bit of prop blur and sunlight on the aircraft.

the tiffies are fine, when we amended the rules we set 10% as a guideline and you are spot on, it's nice to know that Lulsgate gets those more unusual visitors from time to time and that was the point of the amendment so a full flavour of a day could b eillustrated.
Andygolfer (or at least I was once), now just plane crazy

Lulsgate gets its fair share of interesting visitors with the usual display acts; Red Arrows, BBMF and Typhoons etc. based to cover SW England airshows.Today they were also on standby to receive the Red Arrows as a weather diversion but Bournemouth managed to take them as planned.

With the NATO summit over at Celtic Manor (Newport) in just under a month it looks as though many local airfields/airports/bases will be getting some interesting visitors. Also I noted the NOTAM published today that the local area will be within a temporary air exclusion zone, all the way over to central Somerset and ground level to FL105, so not much GA flying will be done for a few days in September. Maybe a discussion for FC over who/what/where and when.

A very nice set from Bristol.

I too like the Aurigny ATR photo - the revised scheme looks excellent.

Thanks for posting.
