Airline Colours on GA

Post by LondonEye » Thu Nov 23, 2017 8:01 pm

Done some old scanning with GA in airline colours.
So, do you have pics of any light aircraft in a recognisable airline colour scheme ?
You'll get the drift looking below.
Pete.

First up, the BCAL I recently took at Blackbushe.

Seeing the Britannia Ce421 reminds me of the Britannia Mooney & Pa28s that used to frequent various airports bringing in spare crew and engineers. I think the Pa28s were painted into TUI colours before they moved on?

This seems to be the only GA I've got that fits the theme. Air Anglia at Elstree c1994.

Great topic, thanks for posting everyone. The Air Anglia Navajo Chieftain was actually part of their fleet. I had the great delight of sitting up front (single crew) in one on a scheduled flight from Heathrow to Humberside on returning from a business flight from Germany with a colleague. We were bussed out to a remote stand and we were the last to board. The captain said "one of you will have to sit up front with me". My colleague stood no chance! Great to be taxying out in the early evening queue with the big jets.
Also remember seeing 4 or 5 of the ex Sabena Cessna 310's round the back of the hangars at Peterborough Sibson, they were all carrying temporary American registrations at the time. Round about 1983-4 I think.

When I visited Sibson 27/5/85 there were three: N611CE (ex OO-SED), N620GS (ex OO-SEF and later G-BPIL) and N626GS (ex OO-SEG).

I remember that they spent months (years?) there, does anyone know if any of them actually flew out of Sibson to start a new life somewhere?

I was there about the same time and here's two of them............

Mike - N611CE is not in your photo and was seen at PFA Cranfield a few weeks later (showing as cancelled in 2013). N620GS became G-BPIL but the CofA expired in 2000. Googling N626GS it seems to have ended up on the fire dump at Bridgetown in Barbados.

Thanks for that, they must have already been there for a long time before I took the photo - judging by how long the grass was around them !
