Heathrow 1976
Re: Heathrow 1976
Definitely the good old days, with a greater variance of types. Nice to see the Electra, Vanguard and the Aeroflot different scheme.
I think the UTA DC8's operated some flights for Aer Lingus, early 70's.
Thanks
Pete.

Re: Heathrow 1976
Great stuff indeed. Some of these were still around when I started in the mid-80s, but plenty weren't. Love the CL-44, the Conway-powered El-Al 707 and the UTA DC-8 particularly. Interesting to see the Cyprus DC-9 too - I presume it was on lease because I don't recall them buying any?
Re: Heathrow 1976
Delightful pictures, love the East European stuff in particular.
Commercial aviation around the world, plus airshows and a few military bits in my Flickr Photo Gallery
Re: Heathrow 1976
Thanks for the comments guys , glad you find them interesting
The UTA DC-8 was parked on the Fields aera ..note the open fromt door ..why ..no idea , but OK for a photo
Cyprus did indeed lease 2 DC-9-15s in 1975 for the LHR route they were N48200 and N54648
Thanks again for looking , will put some more up soon
Cheers

Love those 727's. One of the best looking airliners ever imho.

I have a small number of photographs from Heathrow in the 80's and 90's, including a lovely one of a Pan Am 747sp but when I scan them they look very smal when I import them into a post on here. Is there a particular site that you can edit scanned pictures on?

A Flickr account is what you need - this should help :- http://www.civilianaviation.co.uk/forum ... =11&t=4446
