Hi Folks

I have the following listed on with the new Guernsey registration

2-HIGH = SR20 c/n 1514 (ex HB-KHB) to be Guernsey based
2-KOOL= PA28-181 c/n 28-8690036 (ex G-JCAS) to remain Jersey based
2-OFUS = SR-22 c/n 1367 (ex N352CD) to remain Guernsey based)
2-PLAY = TBM700 c/n 302 (ex N700GY) to remain Guernsey based.

Does anyone have anymore ????????

An article in the new March 2014 edition of 'Pilot' magazine features the above four regns., with no new ones mentioned as yet.

As the thread title states, the article confirms "....the separate jurisdiction of Jersey decided not to participate in the system and plans to start its own independent registry" (Copyright acknowledged). This will be a Guernsey and Alderney regn. sequence (as there are only a finite number of witty registrations prefixed '2', perhaps). Look out for a new prefix for Jersey.

Details of the current system is at http://www.2-reg.com

It's not Guernsey and Alderney but Guernsey

Alderney is a part of the Baliwick of Guernsey so is naturally caught up in such things.

Opens up lots of possibilities..

2-MUCH
2-RSKY
2-RALU (for Dexy's Midnight Runners)
2-HIGH
2-LOWW
2-NILL (for footy fans)
2-LBOX (for DIY fans)
2-CANN
2-HARD (for poor mathmaticans)
2-POOR (but if you were you wouldn't be registering an aircraft in Guernsey!)
2-RICH (quite possibly...)
2-SILLY (for Monty Python Fans)

I could go on (but thankfully won't..) :)

Well Steve, 2-HIGH is already in use, one of the first, a Cirrus SR-20

2-RICH is a reality now, adorning based Navion Rangefinder H, the former N2548T

2-SILLY is too many characters

It was at 6000ft, probably went down to the Channel Islands. If it came over today, I wouldn't have a chance again!!

2-SILLY.? Oh, yes. I was getting carried away by then. So much for Monty Python. Unless.....

They now have a non CI local take up Guernsey marks

Ex Air Dolomiti ATR.72-212A I-ADLO c/n 585, in store at Dusseldorf, has taken the marks 2-ASIA

From the information I have, this is the seventh aircraft on the register

Congrats on the new 2-SPOT registration people!

Airtime (who I work for) have just achieved Part 145 maintenance accreditation for 2- registered aircraft so, as you do, we've come up with a few funny ones and we're running bets on which of these registration we'll see first :)

Hope you like the examples we thought of:
2-ACES (don't we all wanna be?)
2-JUMP (one for the meat bombs)
2-FOXY (self delusional)
2-WHIZ (hopeful) as is 2-Zoom
2-HAZY (appropriate for Guernsey so I'm told)
2-JAGS (doctor's of course, maybe a certain politician?)
2-POXY (definitely aircraft)
2-JIVE (American undertones)
2-JOBS (most of us need to fly)
2-JUGS, 2-MUFF and 2-SEXY (list of possible celebs growing)
2-LAZY (yeah the boss came up with this one)
2-BUMP (guilty)
2-JOIN (one our favs to win)
2-CAMP (list of possible owners)
2-MUCH (sounds good)
2-ZERO (our second fav to win)
2-DUMB (we like)

M-IVSP G-IV has been registered 2-TRAV

This is significant as it is a bit of a coup getting one from the Manx register.

It is also #13  ...or is that 12A

Guernsey Aircraft Register (2-REG) is holding a photo contest to welcome Challenger 601 bearing "2-SEXY" to the register:

2-REG Aircraft Register (Guernsey) welcomes one Challenger 601 bearing “2-SEXY” as one of its unique customized registrations. We would like to challenge aviation enthusiasts to send us a high quality photograph of the aircraft in flight. The first 50 submissions will receive a small 2-REG prize. The best photograph will be used in future 2-REG brochures and will be rewarded with a 2-REG aircraft model.
Please submit you photographs to JvdBoogaard@2-Reg.com
