Saw this fuselage in the hedge near to the small microlight hangar and have been unable to ID it, does anyone have any ideas?

Obviously a film prop, I would say its from James Bond Goldfinger, specifically the close up shots of Pussy Galore (I love that name!!) when they are spraying Fort Knox.

I cannot understand why you think it is "Obviously a film prop"

I'd say that it's an early PA-24 Comanche, compare it to this one :- http://www.airliners.net/photo/Piper-PA ... 39de13296c

Thanks for the reply Mike

I know that it is a PA-24, what I was trying to find out was its former reg number as there no reference to it in Ken Ellis's Wrecks & Relics

cheers

Hi Chris, I've also checked W & R and done an extensive search on the internet but can't find any reference to it whatsoever.

Hopefully someone can help. :)

From repeated watching of the film, I made out the following reg;

N5781W, N6056W N7489W, N7641W and N8729W.

The first three are still active on the FAA website.

N7641W is a reserved reg, as is N8729W.

The latter has an airworthieness date of 27/03/1964.

Hi Maltatripper

This has nothing to do with James Bond and Goldfinger

Cheers
Chris
