VC10 final sortie and others 20/09/2013

Post by Maltatripper » Fri Sep 20, 2013 6:17 pm

Like about 100 others, I saw the final flypast and landing at about 1400 today.

The 2 VC10's were ZA147 and ZA150.

I also saw the following;

B767 EI-FCV Blue Panorama 1245
C130K XV303 about 1300
L1011 (reg not seen) landed about 1600.

Yes, a sad day for two of East African Airways finest ever acquisitions - these were registered 5H-MMT & 5H-MOG and sold to the RAF in 1977.

Probably the best-looking jet airliner ever made, all good thing must come to an end I suppose. :cry:

ZE 705 was your Tristar, mate.

883 & 888 were the afternoon Hercs, if you saw them

and to make my post a civilian aviation post, G-BNRG PA 28 was seen today. ;)
Wanna buy a secondhand airfield?

Many thanks Spyderleader.

I saw XV303, but not sure about the others.

I will check again.

I did see a C130J depart at 1351, but did not get a reg.

I also saw a Chinook, (code ?m) over Carterton at about 1625.

Still the VC10's were the highlight of the day.
