Well been some time since I've posted anything! I haven't actually done much aviation photography since Berlin, and the ones I have done I haven't touched yet, a combination of time and wandering what to do with my Flickr accounts, as I have one for aviation and another for trains/buses/boats. I've decided to get a Flickr Pro account for the latter and will now put my aviation pics on there too which saves paying for two sites.
I took my first spotting trip to Gatwick on Saturday (with thanks to PorkScratching for helping with my queries) as I've been wanting to do it for some time. I've logged some numbers there before when going up and down on Gatwick Express trains but not properly spending a day doing numbers/photo's.
I know there are Gatwick photo's from that day on here already and I hope you don't mind me 'duplicating' as such, to be honest mine aren't as good, I really need to invest in a 55-200mm lens, I had my 70-300 lens on which was fine, but too much for the heavies and couldn't get side shot's of them, so I put my 18-55 lens on which made it a bit easier, but was too small for the A320's, and couldn't get the nice zoom shot's on them. The photo's of these are cropped down which takes out the quality but hey-ho.
Naturally as a first visit (maybe it's just me though!) I took photo's of just about everything, though mostly because I am trying to get pictures of all G- registered airliners (so not GA's or Bizjets). So sorry for boring you with some of the normal stuff.
I had a great day out though, cleared all my last remaining BA Gatwick based stuff (G-VIIT, G-DBCC, G-DBCF which took me all day to get, G-GATM and G-GATR). Also got a fair amount of new serials, and managed to cop Royal Jet 737-700 A6-DFR OTT
Anyway I haven't gone through them all yet, so this is the first set, and I'll post the others on here when I do them:

A great selection, I do think the Level colour scheme is a bit boring and unimaginative.

Nice set of pics
Pics taken as record shots only - no competition entries here

The other option would be to invest in a second camera body and put your existing lenses on them permanently. This not only saves the inconvenience of having to change lenses (sometimes under time pressure) at busy airports but also reduces the opportunity for dust to reach the sensor area. I did this about 7 years ago and would thoroughly recommend it.james143611 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 1:23 amI really need to invest in a 55-200mm lens, I had my 70-300 lens on which was fine, but too much for the heavies and couldn't get side shot's of them, so I put my 18-55 lens on which made it a bit easier, but was too small for the A320's, and couldn't get the nice zoom shot's on them.
Nice shots from LGW.
