Just looking out the window the other day for a chopper on the heli routes and realised i can see the following ( i live near Heathrow,4 dme between the 2 runways and have them over the house at 1300 feet );

Heathrow arrivals & departures on all runways,
Gatwick arrivals & departures,
Northolt arrivals & departures,
Luton & Stansted inbounds from the South,
Heli routes H3,H4, H7,H9,H10 over London, and into Battersea,
Most lower & upper airways in the south east over London,
Other OTT stuff into Brize, Fairford, Farnborough,Lyneham. :clap:

A similar view from a neighbours house

Inverness arrivals and departures (G-EZFT,the latest Easy 319 has just gone over on the Luton service),various oceanics on clear days and the occasional fast-jet going low level down Loch Ness.
Not as busy as where you are though. :whistle:

LGW was a bit of a fluke.I was looking for a chopper on H9 and saw jets climbing out in the distance,which were not LHR ones.
Put the LGW Twr on and thought OK :thumbs:
Everything else is clear ( weather permitting for OTT and trails ),and LTN & STN go OTT at 14-11,000ft. :lol: :clap:

Locally i can see most of east midlands arrivals and departures, especially 09 arrivals.

i can also see the Derby hospital helipad, which is quite busy.

Also have a notorious housing estate about 2 miles away which often has a police chopper over it.

Also on the airway to trent so get a lot of airways OTT stuff and inbounds to Manchester.

so not a lot really. would love an office overlooking Heathrow approaches, except i wouldn't get much done :roll:

Anything in a RHC when Filton is on 09 and a LHC when on 27 goes right over me

High altitude transatlantic flights bound for Europe as well as Military stuff going off down Lands End

From a neighbours house round the corner, same view from mine too on 27L i'm between 27L & 27R at the same place:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afNIKoj_g9o&NR=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also when on t/o on 09R . This one's about a mile nearer to 09R,the reverse of the above video. Concorde had a straight ahead profile to 1200 feet before banking left over the park at the back. Don't get the noise factor of Concorde now though!:

Im about 3 miles out from the end of RWY 06 at Lyneham so get alot of C-130s and foriegn aircraft. Also Bristol-Lulsgate traffic and aircraft heading down on the plain. Every now and then Keevil and Hullavington are active and get alsorts of stuff skimming the houses - wouldn't wanna live in many other places aircraft wise... :thumb:

I get most WOBUN/BUZAD Heathrow departures at around 6000ft-FL100 as well as some Stansted and Luton arrivals from the north and a few northern departures depending on routing.

On a smaller scale I sometimes get Cranfield traffic in the zone and some of the Old warden display traffic.

Ive also caught some european long haul carriers heading north for their Atlantic crossings.

All in all a nice summers day can be fruitful for the book!

Thanks
Ben Leonard

Being as my Home is on the Northern side of Gatwick, I also get the same as Southernsteve except a few more helicopters from Redhill in the distant. And Inbounds on the Ockham/Biggin Stack to Heathrow.

I can see the approach to Aberdeen RWY 34 from the bedroom windopw (telescope needed...and even then...!) and helicopters on training flights pass over the house (Bond, CHC and Bristow). When RWY 16 is in use we quite often get fixed wing swinging rounded (from southern routes) to intercept the ILS, mainly Jetsream, SAAB340s and SAAB 2000s.

Im about 1 mile south of the approch to Liverpool on runway 27 at about 4.5 miles and I get a lot of inbound to Manchester, when on 05, coming from the west and east ( from the MIRSI direction) usually flying over around 5000ft. If Manchester are on 24 then I only see the outbounds to Wallasey and they can be between 5000 and 7000 ft!!

I'm north of UL9 between BCN and STU so above FL140 I get to see everything that uses the northern edge of that airway, also UL18 when the NWMTA is not in use and anything going north south along UN864

Below FL140 I'm in a valley that's the southern entrance to low fly LFA7(T) so from 100ft various helios and then anything the military want to go low level in up to the ceiling of FL140, I'm on the edge of the NWMTA so get to see plenty of dog fights taking place up high too.

I'm just to the SW of the LIC NDB so I get to see anything routing South on Airways via HON or CLIPI as aswell as military in the Lichfield corridor

Also TNT departures out of Birmingham pass over me

In addition to those, on nice weather days (remember them?) I see a fair few light aircraft/helicopters routing North - South (and vv) and there are several Farm strips in this area which produce a fair amount of traffic in the area
