Has anyone else taken advantage of the free upgrade yet, if so, how are you doing with it?

no, I like vista - every time it hangs for a while I can go off and make a cup of coffee! :D

I've got windows 8 on my laptop which is fine but would be even better if I had a touch screen, not even looked at 10 yet and will leave it a while to allow them to sort out the glitches before I consider it.

I installed W10 on my W8.1 laptop on Saturday and am quite happy with it, I've only found a couple of glitches so far :-

1. The up and down arrow keys don't always work when scrolling.
2. The favourites menu includes each URL on a second line plus a large gap above and below which makes the menu much, much "longer" than before.

Hopefully "Service Pack 1" will sort this out. :)

Windows 8/8.1 is awful Andy, it's like looking at a smart phone for kids but you can't phone anyone !
Give W10 a try as it is miles better - hardly any glitches at all. :)

I will sometime soon but would prefer somebody else to find the glitches in it first!

Dowloaded this yesterday. A quick look seems a good little update.

Think it's got a more professional look to the Windows 7 I had before.

One for the experts (I work in IT, but we use the good old W7) :- My brother has downloaded W10 and has always had a Hotmail email account, W10 has set up an @outlook.com email account for him - how does he add his previous Hotmail account to be able to continue using it? :???:

Like this: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/window ... m-account/

How that translates to practice I don't know, I've never had a Hotmail account!

Another one for you about W10, Chris (or anyone else !)..............

How do you make the favourites list shorter? On all previous versions of Windows it was just the name of the favourite, on W10 it's the name + the URL in the line below?

Any ideas? :)

So after using Windows 10 for a few days I came across my first problem. Photoshop CS6 wouldn't open up! Kept giving me an error message. Reverted back to Windows 7 and it works fine.

Not sure if that's a problem with W10 or my set up.

Either way I have gone back to W7 for now.

Not a Windows 10 issue: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/ ... e=Software

Presumably it came up with an error message? Did you take note of what it was? :)

Chris,

I didn't take a note of the error. Something along the lines of can't open location. Even tried a re-install of it but still error message.

Went back to W7 and worked fine again no error messages. So not too sure what happened.

I'm not a computer whiz so gave up with the prospect of about 500 photo's needing editing I wanted to get on.

Hmmmppphhh...................I've just found another glitch.

Every time there's a W10 update it crashes my PC completely instead of updating in the background. :grr:
