Re: Death in Paradise
There's big warning signs telling people not to do it - you simply cannot miss them. This is so sad that this lady has lost her life.
This unlucky lady hung on to the fence directly behind a 737 and was thrown backwards and hit her head on the concrete barrier that runs up the middle of the road. The barrier is there to stop vehicles wandering over to the other side of the road while the driver watches the aircraft land or take off.
The traffic doesn't stop when aircraft are landing or taking off, and it was only a matter of time before someone lost their life either by colliding with the concrete barrier, or by being hit by a vehicle - or by an aircraft landing short.
The beach and the area where the fence is will now be closed for people, there will also be traffic lights installed to stop traffic - that has been threatened for years and will happen now - I can guarantee that.
