I am sure you lot are as fed up with Cannes logs as I am of going there , so for a complete change this one is down through Belgium,Germany & into Austria and back the same way. A small note, I am not particularly photo 'minded' so took relatively few pics, also up until 12/18 months ago I was using a 5 mp Casio point & press. I bought a Fuji 12mp point & press, because at max zoom everything the Casio took was out of focus.Concurrently a friend said I ought to take more pics on my trips, hence so many on the Cannes trips.
I was asked if I could deliver a pallet of 800 kgs of medical books to a medical conference in Graz, Naturally I said yes.
I haven't a clue what all that means but I guess the medical men where they went did .

Hi Terry,
bring on part three!
I wonder if we should have a section just for reports of this type, as I love 'em?

Re: Graz & GVA
A day after my return a call asked if I could deliver to 2 addresses in Geneva in the morning of the 15th ! Probably was my response !
Swiss Customs are notoriously 'picky' and even if everything is perfect , they'll find something that costs money !
I collected the pallet of document wallets for a conference along with brochures for the World Health Organisation , off to Dover to get the Customs forms stamped & set forth for Geneva. The plot was drive all night and arrive at the border when they open at 07.00.
N.B. Switzerland is not an E.E.C. member state, so a 'normal' import procedure takes place at the border, its open 24/7 for cars but not for imports !
It was still light when I passed Reims Prunay, (14th) so a quick visit was in order, G LEGG , F GAGY and F GSJR arrived as I left !
Vatry next, Z ARL , Z ALT , Z AVT , F BTDH , TC MND.
Then straight to the border. I arrived presented my documents & was directed to an import agent, he completed the Swiss forms & presented them to Customs who informed me I was overweight ! A couple of hours checking the load and telling me the forms were not completed correctly, and I was ready to leave, not so fast, had to go on the weighbridge ! All O.K.
I was off, went to the first delivery address, an hotel where a 'Commonwealth Health Ministers Conference' was being held, offloaded the document wallets, then off and find the W.H.O., who it must be said are NOT afraid to spend. Their HQ was f**king huge, sandwiched between the American & Russian Embassies in the 'high rent' ( on a hill too ) area of Geneva.
Finally clear and off to the airport. TAG apron first.
15th May GVA
