I visitedthe owner this morning because an organised tour by an aviation tours company was offering an East Anglian tour in May this year which included Rayne as a venue but had NOT contacted the owner for permission to include it before publicising the itinerary. I was contacted to supply details of the owner (should have asked before they put it on their list) and hence my visit. The answer was a stern NO and the fact that they had done that she found most unprofessional and dis-courteous.
She has asked me to inform all enthusiasts that from now on they are not allowed to visit Rayne except by viewing from the public footpath that passes the farm, so please stick to that rule thank you.
I have removed Rayne from the Essex airfields guide topic as well (this post is also copied there)
sorry but that's what happens when people do stupid things, they have been concerned re security for some time and this publication without asking was the straw that broke the camel's back

Almost unbelievable (except this isn't the first such occurrence). Why are people such rude idiots? I've never been to Rayne but it was on my list if ever in the area. Anyway thanks Andy for trying to "mediate" where possible. As always the few spoil it for the many
