DH Fly in, Old Warden 09-09-2023

I went to this event last weekend and it was enjoyable apart from some of the 'classic' (? - please define) car owners who decided it was a car sound system drive in and were playing almost deafening music to show off their noise to their mates. The heat caused a few heat haze problems but later in the day the light was excellent. Here's a selection...

Very nice, Andy, I'm not too sure the b&w shot of the Dove works due to the 'modern' out of sequence registration. A really good set though.

Beautiful shots of some beautiful aircraft. Hoping to make a return visit to Old Warden next year, the first in 30+ years. Thanks for posting.

Certainly looks like you had a varied assortment of visitors.

Having missed the event last year, I'll be hoping that Dove puts in a return appearance in June for this year's de Havilland Weekend (https://www.shuttleworth.org/product/de ... d-weekend/).

Thanks, the fly ins are very nice days out and easy to get onto the fence for photos.
Sometimes you can walk around the aircraft for a while as well, something that I always enjoy at fly ins generally.

I was hoping to make this year's event but I'm currently double booked which is a shame. Hope I can make one day or the other.

Well the aircraft are certainly classics - some beauties in the mix and nicely captured too. Good to see G-BEWN still going and I see from G-INFO that it is still owned by Henry Labouchere who must be getting on a bit I would think. I saw him in the 1980s "beat-up" Little Snoring on more than one occasion!
