Civilian Aviation

Last weekend's Shuttleworth event will be best remembered for the attendance of 7 Dakotas which had flown across the pond to take part in the Daks over Normandy event at nearby Duxford. As I haven't had time to edit all my photos from this event I decided to post some of the Dakotas as a starter so here we go, the stream take off was most impressive at the small airfield - moreso than Duxford in my opinion...

ouch that was painful but I got there in the end

Thanks for posting them Andy, I missed the Dak's in person so great to see images online.

Lovely set of shots Andy. O/W is a much nicer setting than most airfields with grass and trees rather than tarmac/concrete.

Very nice Andy. Nice to see a picture of Flabob Express in flight as it unfortunately went tech for the mass departure at Duxford. Felt very sorry for the crew and passengers who saw all the others depart but they remaining on the ground.

thanks for the comments guys, agree re the Flabob Express team Denis - felt very sorry for them but they got there on Thursday I believe. nice to catch up with you last week at Stansted & Duxford
