Clacton Airshow - after the mist!

I went along to the Clacton Airshow last Thursday. Unfortunately due to mist that rolled in literally just before the start of show, most of the flying acts were cancelled either before they were due, or just carried out a couple of flypasts.

Pretty much all of the photos that I took of the days participants have been deleted - the Typhoon was on first, and I'm not even sure that the folks stood on the beach would have even seen it - they would certainly have heard it!!

These are from the evening show - which was a first for Clacton, and also a first for me! shooting aircraft freehand in the dark is certainly an art!!

Impressive shots. Not been a night airshow myself, but glad they're beginning to happen in the UK now (I think they've had them in the US for a while). I wonder when we'll get a fast jet with afterburner(s)!

Cheers guys... was certainly an impressive sight, and hopefully the ones that have taken place so will continue, as the night sky certainly adds a different dimension.

Not sure if we'll get a jet with an afterburner - but we can hope!!
