Next Sat (12th) im taking a family to terminal 4, they need to be there for 7am, so as always im taking the camera with me... well me question is, what time do they start landing (its not 24hrs is it) and which runway do they use (are they like mil bases and go with the wind)

Jet ban lifts at 0600z.

It's all done on the winds. If on the 09's, it's always 09L for Landing, 09R for departures.

If it's 27, it depends upon the date/time as to which one will be in use for what. I think it will be 27R 0600-1500z 27L 1500-2359z next Saturday but can confirm later in the week.

So i guess by the time i get there i will see what runways in use

I thought it might of been wind direction but wasnt sure if they could fly over the city at that time of morning, thinking they would come in over the M25

the runways change at 06.00 as stated and again at 15.00 each day,unless on easterlies 09'swhere it stays as
RWY: ARR 09L / 118.7 + DEP 09R /118.5 before that the do try and use both runways between 04.30 - 06.00 and last flight out is usually the QF or SA by about 23.15.
