QATAR Airways Launches London Heathrow A319 Premium Service

QATAR Airways around 1200GMT 18FEB14 has confirmed the launch of 6th daily Doha – London Heathrow service, starting 15MAY14. The 6th daily flight, which Airline Route first reported at 0920GMT, will be operated by the 40-seater All-Business Class Airbus A319 aircraft.

The layout of the re-configured A319LR aircraft is 2-2. Existing 2-class Airbus A319LR aircraft is tentatively scheduled to operate until 30APR14, according to the GDS inventory display and the OAG.

The 6th daily flight, QR015/016, appeared in the GDS Inventory for about 10-15 minutes around 0900hrs but this was removed by 0930GMT. However the airline’s website (timetable search), GDS Flight Information and Seat map continues to display this flight. Reservation for this new service re-opened at 1300GMT.

Interesting... not particularly great timings for us photographers mind!

Mildly surprised they didn't just go out and buy an A318 like the two BA have for the New York run in all honesty. Wonder if that would be feasible?

So BA from LCY;
Air Canada have a long range A319 into LHR as well don't they?
And now Qatar... Anyone else have these sorts of flights?
