Near miss at Liverpool

Post by mhm » Mon Mar 25, 2013 3:11 pm

AN “air miss” involving two planes flying out of Liverpool John Lennon airport is under investigation.

The passenger flights had taken off at around 7pm last night.

Peel Airports spokesman Robin Tudor said the two aircraft were 4.6 miles apart, and separated by 900ft in altitude.

The incident was classified as an “air miss” and will be recorded in the Mandatory Occurrence Reports (MORs) because the statutory minimum distance between two aircraft is five miles.
