The subject is :- Grounded (Civilian aircraft that have been permanently grounded - for example abandoned, awaiting scrapping or in a museum but which as certain as possible will never fly again).

Photography Competition Rules :-

1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..

2. The photo must be of a civilian aircraft that has been permanently withdrawn from use (including museum exhibits), the image can have been taken at any time. As further clarification, entries must comply with the rule stated in the main photographic section: ONLY aircraft that are carrying a civilian registration or are registered as a civilian aircraft are allowed to be posted on Civilian Aviation.

3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not, (cutting and pasting the moon into the shot, for example !). HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.

4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 on the 1st May 2014, to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.

5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.

6. The decision of the moderating team is final.

7. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.

8. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.

9. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.

10. Do not comment on other member's photos.

11. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too. :)

Good luck everyone. :thumb:

Original image appeared in a previous 'Wrecks & Relics' back in June 2012.

Replaced with this image of DH.106 Comet 4 (LV-AHN) taken at Lasham 27th August 1972 b/u by Dan-Air for spares use and remains apparently burnt on site.

This is a partially complete Let L-610 at the Kunovice Air Museum in the Czech Republic in 2013.

This one still retains signs of Aeroflot livery as they were intended to be the type's launch customer; however, the end of Socialism intervened and no alternate buyers were found for the L-610.

I have very few shots that fit into this category so I will go with this one:

New Airbus A340 F-GNIA of Air France at Paris Charles de Gaulle 12th March 1994. Lesson, if you sack a cleaner don't let them on your aircraft with a trolley of flammable liquid.
