We are approaching the closing dates for this October photo competitions so please get your entries in on time.

POTM: viewtopic.php?f=110&p=130755#p130755
And please remember rule 13. Only entries already posted on the forum will qualify for the competition, please include a link to the original post

SPOTM: viewtopic.php?f=110&t=44767 the subject is wide bodied /Airbus airliners.

I had to re-do my POTM entry because the original post disappeared (I think it was probably me in a covid induced momentary lapse of concentration) but if you hav eentered please check that your entry is still there in case I did something really stupid without realising it.

Excuse my ignorance, call it old age or whatever but rule 13 seems to say that if I take a photo which I think will make a suitable entry for POTM I have to post it somewhere before I can use it as an entry. Question is where - a new thread in Current Civilian or am I missing something. I don't get out much these days but if I did manage a trip and took photos I'd like to know what's expected for a POTM entry. I'm ok with SPOTM as I have a reasonable archive :)

Hi Ian, you are correct in your interpretation of the rule 13 and the photo should be posted in one of the following as appropriate to the subject...

1: Current civilian photography: viewforum.php?f=169 - this will cover most photos really

2: Nostalgia and Wrecks & Relics: viewforum.php?f=13 , obviously if it's nostalgia (over 5 years old it) won't be eligible for POTM but wrecks and relics if taken in the current month are so should be placed in this section, we won't worry too much if it's a single photo of a wreck amongst other current photos posted in the Current civilian Photography one so don't get too panicky about it.

3: Airshows/Events: viewforum.php?f=9 which is basically for photos taken at airshow or fly ins really. If you're not sure then stick it in the Current Civilian Photography section. We can always move it over for you if we think it would be better in this section(same goes for wrecks).

Thanks for asking and hope you can get out and find some entries when the weather allows
Andy
