Duxford BoB show 16th & 17th September - an outside alternative

Remember the Duxford school and parking & BBQ for the Duxford airshows? The school isn't open this time but Duxford recreational ground and hall which are next to the school are - very handy at £10 per car - from their facebook page:
> The East Of England Asbestos Patient Support Group fundraising and awareness team will be at the Battle of Britain Air Display on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th September.
> Location: Cafe’ 19 & Community Centre (Cafe 19)

> Directions : Leave M11 at junction 10. At slip road/roundabout take first exit heading A505 direction Newmarket. At next roundabout take second exit Hunts Road direction Duxford Village (the airfield will be on your right). Proceed on Hunts Road for 800 yds. with Duxford Primary School on your left. 2nd. left entrance will be Cafe’ 19 & Community Centre/Recreation Ground (Car Park)
> Our EEA-PSG awareness stand will be on grassed area in front of Cafe’ 19 & Community Centre.
> The Battle of Britain which took place in the air in 1940 during the second world war is commemorated annually on Battle of Britain week-end in September. The Imperial War Museum at Duxford, Cambridgeshire was a Battle of Britain aerodrome where 19 Sqn., a fighter squadron, was based during the battle.
> Each year the base organises a major air display and since 2016 East of England Asbestos Patients Support Group (CIO) has supported the event. The charity is the principal organisation supporting the “Supporting our Armed Forces, Veterans & Families Campaign” a branch of Mesothelioma UK providing professional services for armed forces personnel and civilians concerned about asbestos exposure.
> Since the introduction of a new Community Centre, Cafe’ and Leisure facility now named after 19 Sqn. RAF., East of England Asbestos Patient Support Group (CIO) have supported the local community. Each year the adjacent recreation ground is turned into an over-spill car park for the event and this is managed by Duxford FC. All day parking is available at £10. per car. A great place for photography.
> Our location : The East of England Asbestos Patient Support Group (CIO) awareness stall and a military book and memorabilia stall in aid of the charity’s patient/carer services is located at Duxford Community Centre, Hunts Road, Duxford Village, CB22 4RE. Please use this post code for directions to the car park, the stalls and Cafe 19. This location is at the eastern end of the Duxford runway. Cafe 19 the stalls and car-park will be open from 10am. to 5pm.
i'm hoping to escape for an hour or three so this might be my destination!
