Planebase database
Planebase database
hi everyone
i have been using a new database/logging programme called planebase for the past 8 months,it is run by enthusiasts and is completely free of charge.
they also have another programme for sbs users called pblink it works like GAS Populate but looks up its data from planebase's databases stored on your pc.
there is a full data update every monday while airliners?biz aircraft get an additional mid-week update.
so how do you download this new programme ?
visit this link http://www.planebase.biz/ to their home page.
you must register first, once you have been approved you will be sent a ink for the programme download.
once you are a member you will have access to their google group, where you will get notifications/support plus you can also contribute data for inclusion into the planebase databases .
thanks for looking
mike

Mike/all. Agree 100% PlaneBase is a superb product and I am certainly glad I transferred from ADU. Best database I have ever used, would highly recommend!!!

Re: Planebase database
Planebase seems to be getting better each month, there are now options that allow users use it with either FR24 or Planeplotter, as well as the PBlink which link in with your SBS.
Updates twice a week and all for free, plus a forum with plenty of help within.
I have been using it since it started due to one of the other spotting software being unhelpful and have never looked back.
Here is the link if anyone is interested - http://www.planebase.biz/

Re: Planebase database
I have it installed & just looking around, it looks to be excellent.......... but I'm just waiting to be able to link it to Airnav.
Re: Planebase database
Bob, if you go to the forum and ask when it going to be linked to Arnav, the good thing about the team is they are happy to add things people want, if the demand is there.

Re: Planebase database
Bob, you will get invited to join the forum once you are up and running with the software, I seem to think.

Re: Planebase database
I didn't know anything about this until I inadvertently stumbled on this thread just having a look around for something to read.
I am now in the process of transferring 38 years worth of spotting onto Planebase! What a fantastic piece of software.
I've previously used Aerodata, but after several pc burnouts, and the prohibitive cost of using that product, I had resigned myself to excel spreadsheets, however this database has renewed my enthusiasm for the hobby.
Can't recommend it highly enough!
