Salzburg Red Bulls Hangar7/8

Post by LondonEye » Thu Apr 28, 2016 7:48 pm

In 2007, I visited the Red Bulls collection at Salzburg Airport.
The collection is housed in a glass structured building, natural light for photography. It is on the opposite side to the airport terminal, about a 15 minute walk.
Free entry to the collection in Hangar 7 which has a restaurant and bar, and is immaculately clean. It also has several F1 cars on display.
Hangar 8 is used for maintenance, but most frames are visible.

There was an article in the April 2016 edition of Aviation News (Key Publishing).
Sigi Angerer was once a pilot for Tyrolean, and his interest for historic aircraft saw him acquire a NA Trojan, Grumman Widgeon and a Vought Corsair. All based at Innsbruck. He met Dietrich Mateschitz (owner of Red Bull Drinks) who thought that advertising on the aircraft could tie in with his slogan "Red Bull gives you wings".
The fleet expanded, a new complex built at Salzburg, and "The Flying Bulls" formed in 1999.
