has anybody used this company please, prices look very good but are they UK based? Looking at their offer on the 70D, best price I've seen.

Hi Andy,

Personally I've never used them, but have seen some horror reviews across the web from people that have. Take a look at https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.si ... ronics.net.

They are basically an importer, so the camera would be a grey import, not necessarily a bad thing, but a you could get caught out badly on import tax etc, which would be passed on directly to you.

In the past, I have bought from HDEW Cameras, who have the 70d for £599 at the moment, not heard a bad thing about them. I bought a 24-105L lens through them, which, although came in a white box was a kit lens from a higher model that had been split out, however this was only £465 instead of the near £700 from elsewhere. I would have no hesitation in using them again when I have the funds available for a body upgrade!!

Will be interesting to see how the actual sale price of the 760d matches up against the 70d...

Dan

thanks Dan, I thought they seemed to cheap to be true and I want to avoid grey imports because of warranties etc. I bought a 600D (1/2 and 1/2 with my daughter) for my son in law about 3 years ago and found afterwards they sold grey imports , the company also closed down a few months later but fortunately the camera has been okay, didn't get charged taxs eparately on it so I assume that was in the prices. (their delivery was very quick though).

will look at HDEW cameras thanks, their price is only £50 more.
