British Airways B.747s - let's remember them here
sadly British airways announced this morning that they are retiring their remaining 747 fleet (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53426886) so lets have some memories of them here please - I wonder how many of the fleet we can find a photo of....
I'll start it with one of the Landor retro G-BNLY...

You don't always appreciate them till they are gone. In the days of film, tended to rarely take the regulars. Probably a feeling of plenty of time to get round to it.
So, a few oldies -

Lovely shots LondonEye, especially the cargo one.

Re: British Airways B.747s - let's remember them here
The BA Landor Livery has always been my favourite British Airways Livery. Just looks right on a Boeing 747.
Re: British Airways B.747s - let's remember them here
I was watching Top Gear on Sunday when I noticed the BA Boeing 747 parked at Bruntingthorpe and it got me thinking, where are the 3 Retro Livery Boeing 747s being preserved? Are they in Museums and are they easily viewed?

Re: British Airways B.747s - let's remember them here
There's no British Airways B.747 at Bruntingthorpe, I think you're getting confused with Dunsfold where Top Gear is filmed.
The Landor one (BNLY) and a Chatham one (can't remember which) are both at Dunsfold and preserved putting it loosely as they are used or will be used for film work. No idea re public access.
The BOAC retro is preserved at St Athan but not accessible by the public
The Negus is also preserved at Kemble, but how much public access will be available once the airfield fully re-opens to the public I've no idea.

St Athan scenes by Dan Williams, on Flickr
Regarding BYGC, this is about as clear a view as you can get of it down at St Athan at the moment.
Lampposts galore make photography a nightmare, even without all the building site traffic and detritus.
Perhaps if the scrapping company didn't waste time individually chopping windows out of aircraft to sell at a disgusting price then they'd get through the ever-growing scrap queue at a rate similar to ASI over at Kemble.
As it is, two years for an A330 isn't uncommon.
It should, eventually (whenever that may be) move closer to the road in an area between the rear of the hangar and the scrapping compound. To me it would make much more sense to take it over the road to the Museum area. But sense doesn't seem to be in plentiful supply in aviation terms around here at the moment.
