Hi Keith, I don't have any photos of the Bulldogs unfortunately - we went "missing" from school once a month and went over to Prestwick on the train. There was no security in those days and we just wandered up and down the Bulldog and Jetstream production lines with our log books out !

Another production line I visited was the Islander line at Bembridge, it's another aircraft that just looks "right".

This was in 1973 and it was 35 years later before I actually flew in one - a 12 minute flight from St. Maarten to St. Barts.

If you are a nervous flyer then don't do it !

Great stuff Andy, keep 'em coming.

I was at Sywell on Sunday 08/07/73 and logged the following Pups :- G-AVZN, VZP, WDZ, WKO, WRA(in bits ), XDV, XID, XIE, XJN, XNL, XNM, XSC, XUA, ZFA, ZGF, ZSW and ZSX.

It was pure heaven.

We hitched a lift to Heathrow when it had finished and then did Gatwick, Shoreham (G-AXID, XJN both noted again + ZCL, ZDA & G-BAKW), Thorney Island, Portsmouth, Bembridge (a tour of the Islander production line ), Southampton Heliport, a tour of the College of Air Training at Hamble, Eastleigh, Fairoaks (G-AZCZ noted) then back to Heathrow for 3 solid days All done by sticking the thumb out mostly.

I do have a soft spot for Pups - they look good, they're British and I had my first flight in a light a/c in one (G-AZDG in 1986).
