G-BYGC 'BOAC' B747 being scrapped

Post by andygolfer » Sat Aug 19, 2023 11:47 am

various aviation sites have reported that the BOAC liveried B747 of British airways is being scrapped at St Athan
Scramble are reporting it here: https://www.scramble.nl/civil-news/brit ... 7-scrapped and there are also reports on Simple flying and other sites

here's a couple of pics that I took in 2019 after it was painted in the retro scheme, the top one taken on 19th Feb was it's first service in the new scheme:

bit of a shame as the new owners had intended to preserve it at the time.

That's sad news but we can't really keep everything, especially large aircraft parked outside like this one.

Nice photos Andy - I just love the clean lines on that scheme. Oh for a time machine!
