Hello
I am new to scanning and have a lot to learn. One of my first questions is I have a Uniden EZI -33 XTL Scanner for Civilian only. Last week a Royal Air Force Chinook visited Sywell which is a a Civilian Aerodrome , would I be able to pick up the conversation between the ATC and the Chinook or would they be transmitting on the military frequency?
I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong section.
Robin
Did you know that registration to Civilian Aviation is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Re: Uniden question
Hi Robin,
Welcome to the forum, military aircraft also have VHF radios, so the Chinook would have been using the normal Sywell frequencies that you can listen to on your scanner.
