Hi everyone,
this is my first post as I've just joined this forum, which I find great. I'm passionate about aviation and I'm currently involved in a project about aviation and specifically A380.
The objective of my project is to produce an interactive presentation for people of all ages to gain more interest and knowledge of the aviation world.
I've joined this forum to share the enthusiasm with you, and hopefully, to get to the bottom of some useful info.
The most interesting (and challenging) part of my project presents a breakdown of the weight of all elements that constitute the A380:
- LUGGAGE
- FIXTURES (SEATS)
- WHEELS
- FUEL
- WHEELS
- WINGS
- ENGINES
- FREIGHT
Is there anyone out there who knows where to find this missing info?
Thanks ahead for any replies!
M.

Re: A380 - Weight (total & per item)
Hi Martin, you used the word challenging and I think that's an accurate description! An interesting project to say the least.
I couldn't resist seeing what I could find easily and found this page but it's only overall weights so may not help much i'm afraid: http://www.airbus.com/aircraftfamilies/ ... ey-figures
also a general enquiry page for Rolls Royce for the Tent 900 weight: http://www.rolls-royce.com/customers/ci ... ct-us.aspx
A lot of what you are after will vary from airline to airline because of the different layouts they use on their aircraft and most have their own seats so each will vary in weight. There will be a lot of variables in your list I imagine.
Have you tried asking Airbus of one of the operators, they may be sensitive about some of the information but they may give some of the answers, beyond that I don't know where you can look for the info but wish you luck with the project

Re: A380 - Weight (total & per item)
As Andy has pointed out, each A380 operator has its own unique layout and interiors so the weight of the seats will vary from airline to airline.
As for fuel, the A380 has a fuel capacity of around 81890 US Gallons and 1 US Gallon of Jet fuel weights around 6.7LB (obviously this will only be useful if the tanks are full).
As for luggage and freight, the weight of each of these depends on many things such as the runway length at the airport, the air temperature at the airport, the altitude (compared to Sea Level) the airport is at amongst other things.
Another link that may be handy for some info is

Re: A380 - Weight (total & per item)
Ehy Andy and Martin, thanks for your hit reply!
I've followed your suggestions, even though I had already visited the Airbus page.
I found more information here:
http://www.airbus.com/fileadmin/media_g ... ec2014.pdf
I'm almost done, I'm just missing the info regarding the unit & overall weight of the 22 wheels, plus the weight of the economy/business/1st class seats (I only got the dimensions). I'll keep researching...
On a different note, I'm trying to explain how fuselage and the tail affect the drag. Do you have any literature to recommend?
Cheers

Also according to our "Panoramic tour" guide at Toulouse a few weeks back & I quote "You can fit an Airbus A320 on each wing of an A380!!"
Cheers
