Hello everyone, hoping you're all safe.
I would like to ask if anyone knows anything about BEA operating a route from London to Beirut in the mid 1960s using their own aircraft.
I have two links here that seem to suggest that they did but I have no recollection of ever seeing BEA at Beirut airport in that decade.
First, a link for the Comet...

This next one is for the BEA Trident, also flight BE254, in 1967. It says the aircraft is a Trident, something Olympic didn't have although they did fly the Comet 4B.

At first glance, both appear to have some link with Olympic Airways but the timetables seem to specify the flights that Olympic do fly.
I hope you can help, it's very relevant to a project I'm working on and I would not like to include false information.... and many thanks for looking.
Chris

Re: BEA in Beirut in mid 1960s?
Hi,
BEA first flight to Beirut with a Comet 4B was 4th Apr 1960
I first flew to BEY on 3rd Nov 1968 on an MEA VC10 OD-AFA, I met some people from a BEA staff football team who were there to play an MEA staff team, and as far as i am aware they flew BEA from LHR.
Regards
Cliff
