Serial request 1/7/14 (Yellow rig helicopter)

Post by jakdaw » Wed Jul 02, 2014 8:15 am

Hi guys

Looking for help, had a great day at Humberside watching the comings and goings but it was one of those days. Made two visits, one AM and one PM, on the first visit just missed a 100Sqd Hawk blow through and there was an Orange/Yellow S-76 or similar with a light grey serial which was obliterated by heat haze, it was towed over towards the terminal, possibly from Bristows. Then on leaving a yellow rescue Sea King passed by us near Brigg heading towards the airport. Im sure we have all had days like this, any serials would be greatfully received. TIA

Cheers Jak

Hi there. NHV Helicopters have just moved into Humberside with their yellow EC155 helicopters which have a grey registration. Although there are two based a/c (OO-NSH and OO-NHQ) our local reporter of all things Humberside has posted on the DSAF forum that OO-NHQ was the one in use on 1/7/14. Hope that helps.

Thank you very much, another new helicopter operator, guess they will be needing the new hangar that they are building on the airfield. I wasn't far off, read it as OO-MNG. Thanks again.

No problem. The large hangar over on the east side is of course the new SAR hangar for Bristows when they take over SAR duties from the Sea Kings at Leconfield in September (?). The yellow EC155's are currently using Eastern Airways hangar 7 and are renting an office from the flying club I fly with. Their contract is currently until October so we wait and see what happens. In the meantime while it isnt Aberdeen we do have a good selection of Bristow, Bond, CHC and now NHV helicopters operating out of Humberside.
