Spotting weekender in Lanzarote

Post by skytrain » Thu Apr 07, 2011 5:38 pm

Hola! Just back from a few days spotting in Lanzarote - plenty of sun, sea......and planes! I can highly recommend it if anyone is thinking about a spotting trip or holiday there. Sadly, a new double fence has gone up all the way around the perimeter since my last visit which has restricted photography to some extent, but it is still a superb place to visit for spotting and photography and well worth a visit. Just drop me a PM if you need any info about the best spotting places, hotels etc.

Firstly, here's one of Matagorda beach and a Finnair 757 coming in over the top on final approach.

There was a large number of Air Berlin flights from Germany with A320s, A321's, 737's and A330's putting in an appearance.

TUI sent 3 of their 737's in special colour schemes to Lanzarote last Sunday. Here's one the Golden Haribo 737!

The two main local operators on Lanzarote are Binter Canarias and Islas Líneas Aéreas who both operate ATR72's on shuttle flights between the Canary Islands.

The First Officer of this Binter ATR gave me a wave as they were holding for departure!

I've uploaded more pics to my flickr page so feel free to take a look and comment!

As I mentioned earlier, if anyone would like any info on spotting in Lanzarote just drop me a PM.
