Great shots Gary! What settings were you using for this, and also I presume you was using a tripod? :)

Equipment - Canon EOS450D with 70-200mm F4 L non-is lens

ISO 100 or 200.
a sturdy tripod!
Set the camera to AV mode, set the Aperture to f/8, but tried various at 7.1-11.
Set the camera for a timed delay to eliminate movement when my finger hits the button.
I also use the mirror lock up feature, it locks the mirror in place, prior to the shutter releasing, preventing shake when the mirror swings
Set the camera to RAW

Thanks for all your comments.

You don't have to use mirror lock up. The issue with photography in the dark is that with any movement, It will blur the shot. So Mirror lock up will stop some of that movement. same with the 2 second time delay. Hit the button, stand away from the camera and let it do its thing.

The images are edited in Photoshop. There is a great tutoral for editing RAW images. I suggest anyone thinking about night photography, read this, Digest it and save this link on your desk top.
