New Zealand November 2024

Afternoon all,
Finally got round to editing most of the bits I caught on a non-aviation trip to New Zealand. Was allowed a day at Auckland which was ultimately very hot and hazy, the rest are just grabbed through fences and airport windows as and when. Enjoy.
Firstly the locals. I enjoyed hunting the All Black schemes, and only missed out on the ATR which was in maintenance in Christchurch and flew the day I landed back in the UK!

Enjoyed this one, taken from the Interislander ferry out of Wellington with the sign on the hillside in the foreground.

Quite a few of their A321N are in storage because of engine issues (including a couple at Alice Springs across the ditch in Oz, so I dipped on them). There were two wrapped up like a gift at Christchurch

The Dreamliners are experiencing similar engine issues - luckily there were two on maintenance at Singapore which I caught a glimpse of on takeoff. This, again, was wrapped up at Auckland this time

A few interesting bits and bobs from the viewing area just outside Auckland Airport. Great if you're driving, and if not you can access by bus. Also interesting for any birders out there given the location over a river estuary. Local versions of Kingfishers, herons and spoonbills all over the shop.

And we'll go increasingly more international to finish off with, including a bucket list item for me.

There are others on flickr but I hope this shows what you can get out there. I've put another thread on here with smaller G.A. aircraft if you haven't seen it, and may yet put some military on fighter control.
Any questions, queries or comments, feel free to fire away. Otherwise enjoy!
