Civilian Aviation

Claimed to be the only one of it's kind in the world, I thought it must be worth a few shots. Built in 1958 and originally from Belgium, it was seen at Felthorpe last week....

Very nice shots of a beautiful aircraft. What is Felthorpe is okay for spotting/photography ?

Last I heard there was another Belfair under long term restoration, G-APOD but haven't heard of any news of it for some years now.

Hi Jaws...Felthorpe is West of Norwich and has two grass strips. Its a small airfield and spotter friendly, if you go into the clubhouse there and make yourself known. Weekends are the best
as most of the owners are retired or there about. There is a good mix of young and old frames from replica biplanes to Rv stuff and a chippy...I suppose it's just one of them small sites
where you have to get lucky on the flying side...I have given a front on view of the field and another showing how the black hay bags/bundles can spoil a shot at the moment..cheers

Hi Pete...Thanks for joining the dots a bit more , with your nice museum shot of G-APOD...Seems it got as far as Dundee in 2000 and there the trail goes cold...

I believe that Belfair G-APOD is still extant. It has been most recently listed as under restoration in Culloden with the owner given as LF Potts.
I would be very glad to see it fly again.

Hi Twinpin...Thanks for that snippet on G-APOD. Sounds promising and I might try and chase up the pilot who brought the red one in to Felthorpe, to see if he knows of it.
I didn't give it much thought at the time , after I was informed that it was the only one in existence in the world ...Cheers...will get back in touch if I get any more news on it...
