A Land Down Under....part 1 (Locals Only)

A trip to Singapore last November resulted in a email asking me "would i mind nipping to Sydney whilst in the area" Having never been to Australasia I agreed and a short hop 6 hour flight found me in Perth for the first of my meetings.
First meeting was arranged and with a complete stroke of luck, the easiest place to meet was at Perth Jandakot airport. My meet was running 1 hour late due to traffic, so advised me to make my way to the flying club and grab a coffee on the roof/terraces. Funny thing was, i had already accidently found my way up there. Not the busiest of places, but i believe on a weekend its manic.

First time i had ever seen anything from the RFDSA, many more could be seen, but we not photographable.

Then it was on to meeting which was also on the roof, in the sun, most distracting...but work first :-)
Next meeting was at Perth International and again I manged a full three hour meeting which the backdrop of the apron, my partners were seriously impressed with the amount of notes i took. Meeting finished, meal booked for 8, so 4 hours at Perth.
Arriving at the viewing park, which is literally in another country its that far away, i noticed it had gone very very quiet, then a local explained....

Seen here, stopped on the runway after a mayday landing, the aircraft (operating flight NWK1620) has taken off from Perth 1hr20mins earlier, operating a regular shuttle to Paraburdoo when the pilots noticed the undercarriage doors would not close following the undercarriage retraction. The aircraft landed safely and with a few spark, came to a holt, where it was surrounded by emergency vehicles. The incident closed the airport for over an hour and one aircraft calling for pushback were advised they we number 72 for take off.
Eventually the little Fokker was moved from the runway, runway cleaned and back open...which allowed me to shoot the following in what was only 2.30 hrs left.
