I went back to Manchester on Saturday, this time with my 7D mk2. I much preferred using an optical viewfinder again (with no lag) but was surprised to find that my RP images from two weeks ago are sharper overall easier to edit. I guess that mirrorless is the future, much as digital was against film fifteen years ago.
I was able to enjoy some decent light and left shortly after the runway 05R/23L closed at 10:00. The good news is that 05R/23L is slated to be back into full operation 06:30 to 22:00 from 01 June.
The images are in time sequence, with the last two being from 05L/23R after 10:00

Super set Paul, the kit is giving excellent results. Thanks for posting them and for the comments re the mirrorless technology, I may be tempted before long

Great shots Paul, I'm especially glad to see that shot of G-EZGN as I was onboard whilst doing my "first" operational day as cabin crew (having waited 13 years to get my wings back).

Flying Colours, it was a perfect day to get back to a job you enjoy. Hope the flight was memorable.
Andy, I must admit that I am still torn between the better image from the RP against the optical viewfinder of the 7D2. I might hire a Canon R7 for a day (when its available) to see if its worth the upgrade.
Paultojo, yes, I have a nice parking spot and an easy walk to my favourite spot(s). Hope I see you there one day - I am the grey haired bearded nutter, hovering near a tripod.
