Civilian Aviation

Having gone to Salisbury for my first COVID-19 jab, as I was down that way I went across to Compton Abbas for the monthly Vintage fly in seeing as it was a nice day. As my appointment was at 13:20, I got to Compton at about 14:15, so only saw the last half until 17:00, and was a busy 3 hours and there wasn't a moment where nothing was happening, if there wasn't something moving on the ground then there was something in the circuit.

A mix of visiting and home base GA's, some Tiger Moths and something I've not seen before a Beechcraft Staggerwing, which sounded absolutely lovely!

Also a nice appearance of a Gazelle, and a Robinson R22 with someone throwing it around!

Fantastic mix of old, new and everything in between.

That's a very nice set - some excellent subjects and the setting is so nice for varying angles and backgrounds

Thanks for posting I enjoyed your set. Loved the Hornet Moth and I have never seen a Mistral before. You have inspired me to look more into light and general aviation.

Andy - Yes not much after effects thankfully, only a dead arm that hurt more during the day and a bit the next day, thankfully it wasn't my writing arm so I could still scribble serials

Polehill - No I haven't heard of a Mistral either, looks a bit 'shedware' and sounds like a sewing machine!
