Nice pictures and lovely scenery in the background. Would like to fly around those hills and forests.

I always have admired the brit photos of Central America area; so I started doing it myself.

The aircraft inside this hangar have been stored for at least ten years (some of them) with no flying. This PA-28-140 was recently put into airworthy condition.

At the time of this photo, this PA-28-235 had 18 years of being inactive. This is one of that "hidden" subjects

Before being re-regd as N3805W this PA-32-260 was registered as YS-28C. It's last flight was in 2002. All the airplanes inside this old hangar were owned by an air taxi company that was very popular on 1970/80s. At that time El Salvador was in the middle of a civil war, so land travel was dangerous, many people flew on air taxi to their jobs on the far cities / towns. I am pretty sure this Cherokee Six had more than 9 hours of daily flight these days.

This C-180J got a new life after being put into auction after serving to the police. It was regd as YS-150P in 1982 to the National Cartography Institute, then re-regd as YS-03N for the police, and in 2009 changed back to YS-150P.

Another old derelict air taxi. Again, almost 20 years of no flying. This photo was before being scrapped.

Always good to see something from a more exotic location. There must be some goodies to be found in the wrecks and relics category.

Many thanks for the additional photos, the old hangar looks in really bad condition - is it safe to go in there?

You will not believe that hangar looked exactly how it looked like in 1969, I think the remaining blue paint on the walls is the original from 1960s. I took a pair of photos of the exterior. I will look into my disks to find more. Hangar was demolished on January this year and a new one took its place.
Inside the dust and scrap in this hangar I found some old aircraft pieces, some showing reg numbers. I did not have my 30D camera with me that time, so my potato phone images are the only reference. If anyone is interested I can find them and post.

Thanks for the excellent additional photos, it looks like a nice part of the world to live in. Do you travel to any of the other countries in your area with your camera?

Well; the country business world is slowly getting more confident with the government economy plan, so I think aviation is recovering from hard times (more new aircraft incoming/moving on). Aviation was a bit more sparse ten years ago.
I haven't got the time to go outside (and making airport visits), I just have finished the uni this month, so I hope upcoming months some more activity. Also waiting to COVID-19 times get better and make easier to hang out there!

Thanks for the reply, sounds like your economy is slowly getting better but Covid really isn't helping things anywhere in the world, sadly.
Good luck with it all, Raphael.
