Southend 16-11-2019 incl Vulcan taxi run

Post by andygolfer » Sun Nov 17, 2019 7:29 pm

I went to Southend yesterday to see Vulcan G-VJET (aka XL426) carry out it's first taxi run for a while - it was superb! The viewing location was also excellent for views of aircraft taxiing into the terminal and of course on the runway so it was an even better day!

Starting with the other movements:
from memory, someone on here likes Metros so lets start with this:

now some of the aircraft in the background of the previous photo...
Vulcan XL426 , registered G-VJET strutting it's stuff - superb sight and noise, the first time I'd seen a Vulcan move under it's own power since October 2015 anh how i'd missed it :(

It's not flying (unfortunately) Wallie, it was just doing runs along the runway.

It's not the one that was flying until 2015 either that was XH558 (G-VLCN) which now resides next to a sewage works at Doncaster and is unaccessible to the public apart from engine run days at about £150 a time
