Balloon in Bedford, 14/09/19

Post by TheMightyOz » Thu Sep 26, 2019 10:17 pm

Sometimes you don't have to go looking for aircraft, they come to you! I was sitting in the living room on a Saturday morning when my daughter said "I can see a hot air balloon". Expecting to see it floating somewhere in the distance I looked out and was rather taken aback that it almost filled up the whole window. It passed low over the houses and landed on the school field just round the corner, so we went and watched them deflate and pack up. I spoke to one of the crew who said they had taken off from Old Warden and were trying for Cardington. Hope the photos are of interest.

They'd actually got a mile or two further than Cardington, but must've passed to a bit to the north of it.

I knew I'd forgotten something for my daughter's wedding in Norfolk that day

Great post and a rare opportunity - thanks for sharing.
