London Heathrow Bank Holiday Monday 26/08

Post by james143611 » Fri Sep 13, 2019 6:50 pm

Hello all,

Not been on here for quite some time! And apart from Fairford RIAT I haven't really been anywhere recently plane spotting, only do RIAT because I get a discounted ticket at work on our coach (any plane spotting I have done has been on working away trips, so logging rather than photos)

Never managed at all this year to get to Heathrow because of work and also busy with things like bus rallies... (waits to get slated ) so Bank Holiday Monday was able to have a day at LHR, and it was baking hot outside too, so spent the day at Myrtle Avenue under the tree line, and Left was in use until 15:00

I have some of the regular stuff as well, I know might be 'yet another BA 777' but started getting more shot's of these triples, they are getting on now and with A350's on order, there'll be a time soon when it'll be 'remember those 777's that BA had?'

This surprised me, B777 instead of a 787-8

Then they changed to Right at 15:00. It was too hot to think about going to the BA sheds, so stayed by the tree line and logged stuff coming in instead. There was the odd one coming in on Left after though, and was just as well I stayed put as the Saudi F1 special 777 came in on Left rather than Right!

Bulgaria Air A319 came in but did a go around. Here you can see the grubby undercarriage!

Thank you, very interesting!! Were you near the road?

If you saw someone with a fold up chair, and wearing a black Airbus A350 T-shirt, that was me, if you were much further down the tree line from the road you probably didn't see me
