Bristol - Sat 20 April 2019
Spent quite a few hours up the road at Bristol Airport yesterday, where the weather eventually turned to clear skies, although stubborn coastal mist down in the Bristol Channel prevented the South Wales coastline featuring clearly in the photos.
Runway 09 was in use all day, though one EZY flight landed on 27, and did a 180 turn on the runway to get to its' stand. Anyone have an idea why this might have been??
Here is a selection from the day:

A nice set of pics there Roger. The TUI B738 lining up inthe morning light looks great and a very low shutter speed on the Aurigny.
You didn't happen to get a picture of the Ryanair Sun B738 from Krakow, at a guess about 9:30ish, as my daughter was on it?

I don't see a Ryanair flight around that time on my FLICKR page, but I'll look through the memory card tomorrow and see what I've got.

Lovely photos (I always enjoy looking at shots from that location at Bristol).
If the wind was light (or virtually across the runway) then an a/c approaching from the east may be happy to accept a small tailwind component and land on a westerly runway to get on the ground quicker. ATC are usually happy to facilitate that if there's no other traffic to affect.

Thanks for the information. I was outside the car chatting when it came in, so missed the radio traffic relating to thisPorkScratching wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 9:52 pmLovely photos (I always enjoy looking at shots from that location at Bristol).

Nice set.
Seems like some fun traffic to be seen there.
Would you say it's worth a stop? I'm flying through BRS this July

Thanks 'Zonan'.
It's mostly easyJet and Ryanair at BRS, but depending on what day you'll be there, and for how long, there is more variety available such as Flybe/Blue Islands, Loganair and KLM. Western Power Distribution operate helicopters from Bristol on powerline inspection flights and you can usually see bizjets there too and the based light aircraft.
These photos were taken on a perimeter road the opposite side of the runway from the terminal, and it is quite a walk from the terminal - and ideally you need a step ladder to clear the fence line at the location I used.
This is a useful site for locations/movements etc: https://www.bristolairportspotting.co.uk/
Sorry I can't be of more help!

Great info provided, thank you a lot.
We'll decide when we are there if we are going to do some spotting there, as we do like to see some loganair.
We'll be landing on a friday in the morning around 10:30 lt, so plenty of time, although we may go to Brize norton instead.
Anyway, thanks for the info!
